This is about a relatively new young couple making headlines for their romance, both with their respective spotlights. For months now, one of them has been putting together a special project that’s expected to last for almost a year, with cameras following everywhere, documenting everything. Recently though, producers were given a heads up that the new love interest would be open to making appearances, and that they’d agreed to show intimate moments. Because of this new development, shooting plans and budgets would have to change. Which is fine. They have a lot of money to spend so the concern isn’t financial and the potential reach is a major selling feature. It’ll be exclusive and it’ll generate a lot of attention. 

What’s curious, though, is that the offer also came with a guarantee. Again, they’re projecting a shoot schedule of several months and they’ve now been promised that the couple would be together for the entire duration. That there would be no change in relationship status the whole time. Which is a weird assurance to make, especially considering these two are young and beautiful and famous and infamous and love is volatile in any circumstance, exponentially more when it’s being observed. Still, that’s what’s on the table. And that’s why some people are like… really? Can we really put that on paper? How do you know? How can you be so certain? Why are you being so certain? 

You can understand then that behind the scenes there’s some skepticism. Either they’re really naïve and stupid, always possible considering the players here, and actually believe they can make it or they’re not naïve and stupid and in fact quite calculating and strategic about being in love and benefitting from it in the process or it’s only about benefit and not at all about reality. We won’t know for a while. But watch for it over the next year to 18 months or so.

Here’s a scenario to consider:

Let’s say you’re dating a guy and you’re super into each other, and you’ve been staying with him, and he’s really serious about you, the most serious he’s been about anyone. He lives in the same complex with someone he’s very close to. And the person he’s close to has a partner too. You and she don’t know each other well. But since you’ve been staying there, you run into each other one day. And you tell her you’re going shopping and where. She says she’s going shopping too and leaves in the car. You head out on foot. Turns out, she went shopping exactly where you went shopping. And she knew that’s where you were going. But she didn’t offer you a ride.

Is that weird?

Maybe it’s not that weird. But considering who they are, it IS super gossipy.

There’s a photo booth at one of the most popular celebrity restaurants in LA. And some really, really great gossip goes down, sometimes literally, inside of it. Here are some of the photo booth’s dirtiest stories over the last few months:

An actor in a bad mood with his date, not famous. She’s oblivious to his sulky behaviour, pretty excited to be there, and pleads with him to take a picture with her. When she pulls him into the booth, he obliges, then there’s a loud thud from inside, followed by a muffled gasp. He exits. She comes out a few minutes later, weeping, and then leaves by herself.

A married couple. She’s the star in the relationship. But they love getting high together. Sometimes, when they’re using though, she gets paranoid and insecure. One night she accused him of being attracted to someone else. She starts obsessing about her weight. They start fighting. He starts pleading with her. He pulls her into the photo booth to calm her down. She’s crying about wanting to throw up her dinner, doesn’t want to wait until they get home. He grabs a napkin and she does it right there.

And finally, he’s young, she’s older. She’s feeling herself though, that he would be interested in her, after having children and after her sh-tty relationship. So, emboldened by his attraction to her, when they end up in the photo booth, she rewards him for his attention and sucks him off.

This superstar is single and she’s been feeling herself lately. Boys, unfortunately, have always been a blind spot. On a recent project, a 19 year old dancer caught her eye. So she went for it. They hooked up. Which was great. Until he told everyone – the crew, the other dancers. When she found out she was mortified. She freaked. Mega drama. She couldn’t look at him anymore. She didn’t want to see his face again, ever. Insisted on drastic changes so that he would no longer have the privilege of being associated with her and she would no longer have to be reminded of him. That’s not the official reason, of course. Creative differences are always the official reason. But, behind the scenes, from people who were there, this is what everyone is talking about.

It’s one of the most enduring marriages in the business. They’ve been together a long, long, long time. And it’s not like those with his job, in his position, are known for fidelity. Through his career though, he’s managed to avoid major scandal. That’s not the only reason he’s beloved but he is beloved. Maybe the secret is that they keep it open? I hope so. Because two weeks ago he was seen at an exclusive Hollywood hangout making out with a woman in the fashion industry. She has a boyfriend of her own. Since they weren’t terribly discreet about it, either they thought no one would talk about it or, well, his wife is OK with it. If she’s not, it will cost him. And he is worth a LOT.

She exited a long relationship not too long ago. While they were together, they definitely partied, but he preferred a more chill vibe while she was getting too into the pills. Which is why he claims they ended it. Turns out, around the time of her split, she went to rehab for a tune-up and is now sober and re-focusing on her work. Her work, recently, was rather high profile, a prestige assignment. But she was miserable in that environment, not only trying to avoid bad habits but, apparently, not getting along with her colleagues; supposedly they never wanted to hear her opinions.

Now that she’s clean, her perspective has changed too. So she’s going around telling people that the reason she’s not with him anymore is because he’s not stimulating enough intellectually even though she was so attracted to him. There were a lot of romantic gestures, like dedicating his art to her, but ultimately she’s revised their history to read that she left because she wants someone smarter.

I first heard this rumour a few weeks ago. Now two more people have told me the same rumour, all circulating among people in New York…about a hot actor and a married woman with a famous husband.

It’s been a while since he’s made a relationship stick. Because he’s so devoted to his work. One relationship apparently fell apart because of his work. We love him because he’s great at his job and so personable, handsome and cute at the same time. And stays out of trouble, off the party circuit, never attached to any drug-doing smut. Maybe the trouble he gets into has to do with who he hooks up with?

According to gossips in New York, he had an affair with the wife of a wealthy celebrity. Because of her marriage, she’s well-connected and has her own famous friendship circle that overlaps with his friendship circle. And while she doesn’t seem like his recent types, you don’t have to go back too far to find similarities with a previous type. This happened a while ago and ended not dramatically. Word is it took him a while to get over – not the emotion of it but the guilt. And he beat himself up pretty badly over what he considers a major mistake.

They hooked up real fast. And everything has been at top speed ever since. From initial attraction to exclusivity to super, super serious, they’ve been inseparable, and she’s totally in love and he’s definitely into her too but he’s also really, really into partying. They were both recently at a private event. Everyone was happy, everyone was celebrating, and then he starts making out with another guy. He was also totally f-cked up when it happened. He gets f-cked up a lot. It’s definitely a problem – one that he won’t acknowledge and that she doesn’t want to see because she’s too blissed out. Eventually though it’ll catch up with him and them. For years there have been warning signs with this guy. And it’s affected all of his past relationships. She can’t seem to avoid the dark ones.

It’s the hookup everyone wants. On paper, it’s ideal. Sweetheart loves home, in more ways than one. Indeed, a couple of months ago, she was supposedly still hanging out at his place. But around the same time she was also seen in a foreign country, sightseeing…and seeing someone else?

Her close friends are saying she’s actually not dating the guy you want her to be dating. Their answer about her love life involves a man with a sexy accent who happens to live in the aforementioned foreign country. And her trip there was to see him, spend time with him. And they definitely hung out during award season. Which is why she doesn’t mind that you think she’s with someone else. Because then she can hide what’s really going on for a lot longer.

He’s a hipster musician, in one of those acclaimed bands that shows up on Saturday Night Live once a year, or at least that’s how it feels like to me, who sometimes gets into Twitter fights with actual musical legends. Of course he’s smug, and he talks a lot of trash. Also, he steps out on his wife.

Let’s back up though. Because his first marriage ended ugly too. Two years later he proposed to his second wife, who has many celebrity friends in her own right, and it was a big hipster wedding with designer flourishes and they were happy, teasing each other in magazines. That’s over now too. He’s been cheating on her with a songwriter who was everywhere 15 years ago, although at the time a lot of us couldn’t tell her apart from another girl on a piano. She divorced earlier this year. Now his wife has filed for divorce because she found out about their affair. Can’t wait to see what excuse he comes up for it this time.

Right now it seems like nothing can go wrong for him, at least not professionally. He's in a groove. Personally things seemed to be going great too. He's happy with his partner. They're loving parents, they are supportive of each other, they are both kind and sweet people. But she's been upset about not being able to get pregnant and now she's in denial about a serious problem. It's starting to affect her career. She shows up drunk to events, embarrassingly drunk. To the point where reporters speaking to her don't even feel comfortable using what she's said, even though these are press opportunities for promotion. And they are really concerned about it at work. She drinks at work and it's making the situation difficult for cast and crew because they have to keep reshooting over her mistakes and the retakes are piling up. Her boss has had extensive experience with a big star disrupting the set and is just trying to get through as much as they can, keep production going, because no one wants the staff to be out of pay if everything is suspended. Recently though, it’s come to the point where they had to hold an intervention for her. It happened on set. Right now she's not in rehab but the hope is that they can keep her functioning until there's a long enough break for her when she's ready for treatment.

For a year now she’s been pitching a panel-style talk show about love and marriage, similar to The View or The Talk, partnering with popular parent and women’s lifestyle websites. Because of her high profile, she wasn’t expected to show up every day but often enough, like a few times a month, so that the audience would know that it was hers – the Barbara Walters of the group, you could say. The other women included a newlywed, a model-actress-mom in her 40s, a single, divorced woman in her 40s, and a woman in her early 60s.

Would you believe, though, that even with her popularity with the MiniVan Majority, no one was interested. The show was rejected, repeatedly, while other similar shows, featuring other personalities, got picked up, like Tyra Banks’s FABLife. The reason? Too “upper class”.

Interestingly enough, this happened before everything blew up. And now that it’s all blown up, and she has everyone’s sympathy, the show still isn’t getting any play…even though she could be an expert at talking about love and marriage right now. But is she willing to go there? It might change if she’s willing to talk about it. Would she talk about it? On camera? Probably not. Not for the sake of the children. But that doesn’t mean it’s not leverage – not only from a business perspective but when dealing with that idiot too.

The easy assumption is that their marriage is over because he cheated. He may have. But I’ve spoken to over a dozen impeccable sources, the best sources, sources I’ve worked with for many, many years. And while none of them can verify whether or not he stepped out, they can all confirm that she did.

They work in a small town. It’s a protective community. The community insulates their own. Even if artists f-ck up, the community generally keeps their sh-t contained, honouring a country code. So, even though a lot of people had a lot to say about her for a long time, out of respect for the business and for her husband, the community locked down her secrets. Also, they were afraid. Because, as two sources told me, “She’s crazy as f-ck. She’s the one who doesn’t just threaten to burn down your house, she would totally burn down your house. No one wants to mess with her”.

This is why no one could challenge her when she took a song from another artist, written by the other artist, without any notice, and went on to great acclaim for it. In public they all pretended like it was agreed upon and civil, but that’s not how it went down. She ripped off the piece from an emerging young talent and you saw it on that girl’s face – she was helpless at the time.

This is why no one wanted to expose her when she threw herself at another major superstar just before she got married. She offered herself to him repeatedly. While they were working together she presented herself to him one night only to have him push her out the door. So she’d start calling his wife, telling the wife that she was going to take her man, telling the wife that she wouldn’t be able to do anything about it. And she started texting him, begging him to tell her what she had to do to get him to leave his wife and be with her. She promised him, over text, that if he was with her they would be country royalty. When he refused to hook up with her, he and his label received a cease and desist from her people, telling him that he would have to reset his album because she and her now-husband would no longer allow him to use any of the music they’d written together. This is how and why they all ended up professional rivals. But, again, at the time, because she had a reputation for being so unpredictable, with mercurial mood swings, and because she was so popular (to the public) and powerful, no one wanted to take her down. Until now.

The town is turning against her because her husband just cut her loose. He finally cut her loose because she was caught, very recently, cheating on him with a member of her tour team (he’s not talent but he has a prominent position) – and there’s a family involved. She tried, but there was no way she could deny it. The evidence was irrefutable. It was flagrant. And this is why people are breaking the code. They see this as the ultimate disrespect. The way she went about it, so carelessly, they see it like a willful humiliation of her husband, who is very well liked. This, on top of the fact that people have been waiting for years for her to get what’s coming, is why so many people in that community are ready to sell her out.

You remember when he turned up in a small, out-of-the-way-of-Hollywood town not too long ago, for no apparent reason? He was trying to go undercover. Because it turns out, he was there with a woman…a very attractive woman… who is not his wife. They were seen holding hands at the hotel. But can you ever really hide? No. Not even out of the country. Not even by the sea. He ended up getting busted by fans and the local media got a hold of it. And the thing is, he told his wife that he was somewhere else. He and his companion have been having an affair for some time.

Again?

Of course it’s not the first time. He thought it wouldn’t get back to her that time in Oklahoma and that didn’t work out for him either. His wife forgave him then, as she always does, patiently supporting him as he works through his issues and compulsions. But he can’t help himself. When things are going well, he will always find a way to f-ck himself up. And now, finally, she may have had enough. Has she had enough yet? It isn’t instant forgiveness. Then again, he’s not exactly working hard to put it back together either. The temptations are too hard to resist. Last time he set his reputation on fire though, it was easier to forgive. And she helped him rehabilitate his image. Could he come back from betraying the perfect wife, walking out on a perfect home, and breaking up the perfect family?

Before it happened, his friends were begging him not to do it. Begging him not to make it permanent. But he was in too deep, and a little wounded too after his most recent professional setback. So it happened. Despite all the warnings, he went ahead and made it official.

But the happily ever after wore off really quickly. It wore off a long time ago. Which is why while he’s working, he’s also hiding. Of course he could stay in luxe accommodations all to himself. Instead of sleeping in a hotel suite that they most certainly have the budget for though, he’s on his buddy’s couch. His best buddy. The one you’d think would approve of his relationship. But even his best friend thinks his girl is crazy. And understands why he’s decided to hide out, where it’s not so easy for her to find him. Which, apparently, happens all the time. She’s obsessive about calling around, looking for him, haranguing anyone she can to ask where he is, what he’s doing, why he hasn’t texted her back. Two sources confirmed to me that she’s been delayed on set a few times because she’s been shouting down the phone at someone in her trailer, demanding they track him down for her. And so, at a time when they’re supposed to be celebrating, he’s far away, enjoying his freedom for a few weeks. Is this what it’s going to be for a lifetime?

She started out as a song girl, then acted, keeps trying to do both. At the beginning it was promising but mostly, over the last few years, it’s been a series of disappointments. Personally though, she seemed to have it together. A steady relationship, a solid commitment, no drama…

Or maybe it’s because we weren’t paying attention.

She and her playing partner have been having problems for a while. They’ve been trying hard to work it out. But that might not turn out so well if she finds out that he hooked up with a much more successful song girl, someone with a similar early sound and origin, though that’s evolving now. Despite her many changes, contrived or organic, this was probably not the intended image.

To the outsider, they don’t seem to have much in common. The internet doesn’t seem to understand their relationship. But it’s serious, lasting a lot longer than people thought it would. How have they prevailed? Love, sure. And also…oxycontin. They’re both addicted to oxy and often spend days at home, wrapped up in each other, doing oxy, back to her old habits. But he’s been partying for a long time, somehow he manages to make the bare minimum at work. So when they hooked up, she just kinda fell into that lifestyle. It’s not like she has to worry about money. And it’s not like she has the kind of job where anyone’s waiting on her to show up either. She’s already a boss as it is and then there will always be a mirror to hold her up.

Not pregnant but painkillers?

He recently had to pause on work obligations citing health reasons. But this superstar didn’t seem all that sick. That’s because the health reasons were related to his wife. She’s been keeping a surprisingly low profile the last few months. Which is unusual because, well, the wife is rather pap-friendly. The immediate speculation was pregnancy and bump-hiding. But there was no bump when she showed up at a major event so it definitely wasn’t pregnancy.

Apparently there’s a painkiller addiction going on. And that’s the reason he couldn’t make it that time. She had an episode and it was serious enough that he had to bail on work and help her out. Not a side of him we see very often – you know, putting her before him. Something she must have enjoyed, though probably for the wrong reasons. Still, she seems to be getting off on his attention. And that’s worrying for those around her too. She’s addicted to the pills and also addicted to his care.

There’s a reason she recently decided to flaunt her brand new relationship so publicly. Suddenly she’d found true love behind the scenes? And they were telling magazines about it? And getting papped on holiday in Europe? It was because she was sending a message.

To the major Hollywood player with whom she’d been having an affair for 6 months. Only, at the time, he had a girlfriend. They were dealing with each other undercover. She would travel to see him while he was shooting on location overseas. No one, none of us, picked up on the fact that she showed up in the same city. He was sleeping with both the official girlfriend and the side job and telling the side job that he’d break up with the official one and make her the bonafide but, really, the side job, to him, was just a good f-ck and not a proper escort at the kinds of functions he usually needs an escort for. She continued to pressure him though and when he refused her demands, she showed up with a new man, jammed it in his face – and ours – and very shortly afterwards, he formally ended it with his gf, with a generous send-off.

Now? Impasse. She’s enjoying her summer hookup. And he’s all like, ok, I’m available, you can come to me, or don’t. It’s not like he can’t find a replacement, like, right away. Any woman becomes an instant star as soon as he takes her out. Given that she’s already a star, on a smaller scale, their reveal, should they figure out their situation, would be great for gossip though it could overshadow his work. And he has a lot of it coming up.

Big super secret hookup

Doing it to get her back

We were all a little sad, I think, when it was confirmed that they’d broken up. No one sadder than him. But she left him because of his drinking. It was excessive, and with the experience of her last relationship, she saw the signs and opted for self-preservation. In addition to his relationship with alcohol though, he also had an unconventional relationship with sex. Think...Michael Fassbender in Shame. Along those lines. Though he was faithful to her, totally, there are addiction issues he clearly has to address. And he’s doing that now, going to meetings, reaching out to another celebrity in recovery with whom he’s worked, as some of their issues are quite similar. He’s almost a month sober now and, yes, he’s doing it, in part, to get her back which... well... they know that’s not the way, don’t they? A few people close to him don’t think he’s really taking it seriously if he hasn’t committed to rehab. And she can see that too. For her, this is permanent, even though he doesn’t seem to be able to accept it.
