They hooked up real fast. And everything has been at top speed ever since. From initial attraction to exclusivity to super, super serious, they’ve been inseparable, and she’s totally in love and he’s definitely into her too but he’s also really, really into partying. They were both recently at a private event. Everyone was happy, everyone was celebrating, and then he starts making out with another guy. He was also totally f-cked up when it happened. He gets f-cked up a lot. It’s definitely a problem – one that he won’t acknowledge and that she doesn’t want to see because she’s too blissed out. Eventually though it’ll catch up with him and them. For years there have been warning signs with this guy. And it’s affected all of his past relationships. She can’t seem to avoid the dark ones.

Right now it seems like nothing can go wrong for him, at least not professionally. He's in a groove. Personally things seemed to be going great too. He's happy with his partner. They're loving parents, they are supportive of each other, they are both kind and sweet people. But she's been upset about not being able to get pregnant and now she's in denial about a serious problem. It's starting to affect her career. She shows up drunk to events, embarrassingly drunk. To the point where reporters speaking to her don't even feel comfortable using what she's said, even though these are press opportunities for promotion. And they are really concerned about it at work. She drinks at work and it's making the situation difficult for cast and crew because they have to keep reshooting over her mistakes and the retakes are piling up. Her boss has had extensive experience with a big star disrupting the set and is just trying to get through as much as they can, keep production going, because no one wants the staff to be out of pay if everything is suspended. Recently though, it’s come to the point where they had to hold an intervention for her. It happened on set. Right now she's not in rehab but the hope is that they can keep her functioning until there's a long enough break for her when she's ready for treatment.

It’s an hour to fly from Toronto to New York. By the time you go up, it’s almost like you have to go down again.

But she was desperate, desperate for a drink. Even before take-off. Which was not allowed on this flight. She was told she’d have to wait. And she didn’t want to wait. Caused a stink about having to wait. Huffing and puffing, sweet features morphed into an off-putting bitch scowl. It was a scene. And she didn’t stop bitching until they put the first jack and coke in front of her once the seatbelt sign had been turned off.

That was followed by two more. Three jack and cokes on the flight.

So, maybe she’s afraid to fly. Maybe it was a terrible day. But with her history, and it wasn’t all that long ago, and the sh-tty influences she has around her, this is probably a concern, non?

It’s hard to stay up. Every time he’s gone up, he’s always come back down. It was thought that that was only because he was young. And now, with children and a devoted wife, he was supposed to be able to hold it together. So far, sure, but just barely.

There were signs before Christmas but during the holidays, he injured his back on a ski trip. This was not widely disclosed and kept out of the press. Painkillers were prescribed. The big movie was pushed back. Cocktails were consumed in combination at events. No one remembers he actually went to rehab several years ago. Still, so far, he’s functioning. And things are great with his wife. She really tries to take care of him but she’s not always with him. When he’s out on his own, it gets messy. There have been times lately where he’s been so drunk, he’s the dude passed out on the couch when everyone else has gone home. Either that or he’s the dude who’s all over the tall, attractive model type at the Oscar party that his wife decided to skip. Oh yeah, that happened. It keeps happening. They were talking nose to nose. He gave her the full charm. A “later on” was definitely implied, while everyone around him just shrugged. Because it’s not the first time and it’s not the last time and it’s the secret they’re all expected to keep. Not because he doesn’t love the mother of his children, because he does, he really, really does. But between the pills and the alcohol, he’s losing control of that side of himself that’s been held in check for too long.

We were all a little sad, I think, when it was confirmed that they’d broken up. No one sadder than him. But she left him because of his drinking. It was excessive, and with the experience of her last relationship, she saw the signs and opted for self-preservation. In addition to his relationship with alcohol though, he also had an unconventional relationship with sex. Think...Michael Fassbender in Shame. Along those lines. Though he was faithful to her, totally, there are addiction issues he clearly has to address. And he’s doing that now, going to meetings, reaching out to another celebrity in recovery with whom he’s worked, as some of their issues are quite similar. He’s almost a month sober now and, yes, he’s doing it, in part, to get her back which... well... they know that’s not the way, don’t they? A few people close to him don’t think he’s really taking it seriously if he hasn’t committed to rehab. And she can see that too. For her, this is permanent, even though he doesn’t seem to be able to accept it.

Very promising, very young, very well connected star was completely smashed at an afterparty recently, stumbling, mumbling, a total embarrassment, and not quite legal. She doesn’t eat, she’s drinking heavily, she’s experimenting with some other substances, she’s practically living with her boyfriend, and there is rarely an adult around to supervise.

Many thought she had passed the danger stage and she’s so promising, especially with her pedigree, that they’ll lie and hide and camouflage when she f-cks up, hoping that the phase will pass. But drama runs in the family, they should watch this one closely before she goes the way of the Lohan. Because people are talking and these people are accustomed to seeing young girls get f-cked up all the time. She’s going so hardcore though that she’s getting their attention.

When do the drugs kick in?

Not that you need me to tell you that she’s not so innocent but this is the sh-t that goes on behind the glossy glitter, the packaging, and a billion dollar brand that must, at all costs, be protected.

There was a pregnancy scare a few weeks ago. She was actually bragging about it, because of course she desperately wants people to know that she’s having sex. There was a serious sit-down, a discussion about the ramifications of her actions, and a promise from her handlers that she’d be controlled with an agreement that control also comes with a “get rid of the problem” policy that the Lord probably wouldn’t approve of.

Turns out she wasn’t pregnant. But she is drinking. And boastful about it too. Once again, it’s the yapping that keeps getting her in trouble.

At a shoot recently, she didn’t realise her mic was on. They all get caught with their mic on, don’t they? What came out of her mouth?

Oh, only a lot of talk about her experience with “getting f-cked”, like proudly, and more boasting about her flavour for “dirty martinis”, apparently her drink of choice. Great lessons from mommy and daddy.

Miss Thing has been hitting the sauce. Hard. And when she's intoxicated, she's even more lascivious than usual. Same sex propositions are not uncommon except there are usually no takers. Not surprising all things considered.

The consequences of overboozing? Trust me, you've ALL seen it. And while the evidence hasn't hurt her professionally, it looks like her thirst for Absolut is affecting her relationship. Poor guy is hardly getting any action anymore. And I'm not talking in the sack, I'm talking in the mouth. Suspended activity in the back of a limo, unfinished business because someone fell asleep, passed right out while literally getting down.

Needless to say, he wasn't impressed. Which is why he was so uncharacteristically loquacious (my friend Ammie's favourite 'teacher' word) with the boys and the not-so-close boys the next day. Damn. This girl gets more disgusting by the day.

Two subjects. Unrelated. Except for the narcotics.

The first: A frequent riddle offender, the girl who never knows the ending, isn't hiding her vices very well. Messed up beyond belief at a recent industry event, she was barely coherent behind the scenes, and when a young fan came up - the daughter of a connected executive - for a pre arranged meet and greet, the child was rudely pushed aside as the trainwreck rushed to the ladies', unable to hold her liquor after using all that smack. Now that part is common knowledge. The not so well known detail is why the boyfriend remains by her side. Because while he's not exactly faithful in body, he's still very faithful in spirit. The reason? Pity, gossips. Plain old pity. He can't leave her because he's feels sorry for her. And until he figures out how to get her rehabbed, he's not going anywhere. Now isn't that sweet?

The second: Promising actor was pretty squeaky clean and low key. Didn't party, hadn't slept with Paris Hilton, surprisingly private private life (relatively speaking) until he met her. Along with the notoriety came a newfound passion for blow. . But what started out as recreation has become something much more alarming. And people are starting to talk. First of all, he looks like crap. Second, he's starting to search in some seedy places when he's jonesing. Now buying from a dealer in any other city is one thing. But buying from a dealer in Hollywood is something else altogether. Because they supply everyone, from your regular joe and jane non-celebrity to your garden variety studio vp, with anything from 'happy' to 'information'. Usually not a problem in this town but probably not the best thing to do considering the collective maturity of his fanbase, know what I mean? Image is money. And money is everything to the real power players in Hollywood.

I’ve never had a baby, nor do I intend to, and therefore don’t consider myself an expert, but even I know that it’s wrong to over-imbibe when you’re expecting. Then again, it’s also wrong to steal another woman’s husband so why hold our mother-to-be to such lofty standards of propriety? Besides, going by what I hear, she’s probably not smart enough to figure out that alcohol can actually harm your fetus - relief therefore that her empire of origin has been left in more reliable, if manipulative, hands.

Still… it’s really not the kind of gamble you want to f&ck around with. But as I said before, sound judgment is not her strong suit and well into her 2nd trimester, she was openly throwing back glass after glass of red wine. Over a 5 hour period, eyewitnesses report that it was refilled more times that would be considered “medically, socially, morally” acceptable. Even more interesting though: the person doing the replenishing was none other than the proud father and reigning junior master.

Word is he keeps her already vacuous mind as stimulated, or as de-stimulated, as possible, which may account for the common phrase heard among those who’ve met her and describe her behaviour: “She is always OUT OF IT”…so much so that he often has to accompany her to do her business.

After all, opportunistic love also extends to the loo.

A Tale of Two Grooms

Groom #1 was recently married, publicly devoted, demons supposedly tucked away, and yet was seen driving his unmistakeable vehicle into a hotel parking lot the other day. A hotel parking lot in his home town, where his home is just a few minutes away, and his wife was occupied in another state. There was no business meeting scheduled, there was no professional reason to be there - and yet and yet. Whoever could he have been up to?

Then there's the friend, Groom #2, also recently wed, also known for hard core hittin', the two shared one memorable evening just one year ago, even after #1 was claimed off the market. It was an evening involving multiple young ladies, a pool, naked swimming, a Hummer, and a long night of down home loving. Two seasoned horndogs feeding off each other and off Jim Beam, living the debaucherous life - it was a night to remember and perhaps the reason why #2's new wife curtailed their celebrations, wary of what might happen should her husband be tempted by the high times of the past.

Can these two grooms be tamed? The second perhaps. But the first? No one thinks no. No one at all.

Who’s rumoured to be thrown off his latest movie because he can’t stay sober? It wasn’t a starring role but those kinds of jobs are few and far between these days. Obviously being a dickhead has a lot to do with it…as does looking bloated most of the time. And unfortunately he doesn’t have Vince Vaughn’s charm. Or, for that matter, Vince’s more successful, more sought-after counterpart...which actually might be part of the problem.

Huge ego problem, not enough talent to back it up, using numbs the insecurity.

He is super talented. Undeniably so. But like many of the most brilliant, he is also very troubled, though it was thought that he had been able to gain control of his demons with professional assistance. Thing is, he went in last time for booze…at least that’s what was “revealed” at the time… but it turns out, since he’s certainly not abstaining these days, the truth is alcohol was never his vice. His vice was actually hard core smack.

Which is why he’s been brazen about drinking in public these days - carousing and cavorting with friends and family who up to this point haven’t seemed concerned, seeing as vodka wasn’t his toxic muse. Past tense.

Word is he’s been hitting the bottle hard to the point of oblivion, to the point where the studio behind his new projects and the suits who manage the marketing are getting worried about whether or not he’ll be able to deliver on his commitments and are now trying to impose behaviourial conditions on his promotional appearances as a pre-emptive move to get him to clean up - something has not taken kindly to.

Jury is still out on whether or not he can pull it together but everyone is pulling for him. In spite of his issues, everyone loves him. He’s a sweet endearing guy with a terrible terrible problem.
