As mentioned during the Globes wrap-up, Cameron Diaz looked decidedly uncomfortable sitting next to her bestie Drew Barrymore the other night. Can’t say I blame her. Drew was so cranked up and blown out, any friend would worry.
OK Magazine is now reporting that at an afterparty at the Sunset Tower the two barely spoke to each other and stayed on opposite ends of the room. The article is totally believable…until, like most tabloids, they overreached and topped off the story with one final detail to send it into the realm of bullsh-t.
According to OK! Leonardo DiCaprio is now taking sides and he’s standing firmly on Drew’s because supposedly when Cam came towards him at the even, he turned on his heel and practically ran away from her.
Um. No.
Cam and Leo are tight. They’ve been tight since Gangs of New York. They’re tighter than they let on. And I’m told she is constantly trying to set his BFF Lukas Haas up with a revolving door of ladies she thinks he should marry.
For reals.
OK! is claiming that the disconnect between Cam and Drew is resulting from Cam spending too much time with her boyfriend Paul Sculfor and Drew is calling her out for not being a constant friend.
What?
F-ck. You really think they’d do their research, non?
Because it’s the same. It’s the same as it’s always been.
Cam was like that with Justin. Drew was like that with… all of them. This is how these two girlfriends make it work. All the time. It’s not the first time.
So does that discredit the entire OK! article? Probably not. There was indeed tension between the two, and there continues to be, as Drew’s schedule and the pressure of producing and directing and managing a million things at once are taking their toll.
But then again, according to Lily Allen, anything in moderation, is totally fine.

Drew Barrymore is single again. And if you’ve charted Drew’s romantic resumé over the years, this is not a surprise. Drew finds love often…but it’s not often lasting.
So she and Justin Long are no more – confirmed by her rep. Of course they’re still friends. Of course they are. This time I believe it. Am told it was a relationship characterised more by companionship than by full-on lusty passion, the way it was with Fabrizio, with no conventional boundaries. So while Justin was her official beau, it’s not like she couldn’t kiss another dude in an elevator, you know? While we’re at it, if the lightbulb just went off, those happy returns appear to be recreational only. For now.
This personal setback however has been matched professionally.
Drew’s been working on He’s Just Not That Into You – it’s her production company that produced the film which has now been moved back to a February 2009 release. Movies typically go to February to die, especially when they were originally intended to be out there much sooner. (Remember The Other Boleyn Girl? SOOOO bad!)
This is the 2nd time HJNTIY has been pushed…never a good sign. Some are saying it’s because Jennifer Aniston did not test well with audiences, but in defence of Jen, my sources say it’s just not a very good movie all round.
And the blame for that is not Jennifer Aniston…but Drew Barrymore. They now have time to cut it, massage it, make it better. Hopefully for Drew sake she can salvage something. Whatever happens, at least it's better than going back to being the Mac dude...period.

My question: Since I've been reading your site, I don't think you've ever mentioned anything about Drew Barrymore. I'm curious - do you like her? hate her? What has she been up to lately?

I like Drew. A lot. She's irritating in a daisy, flowers, frou frou kind of way and I certainly don't approve of her friendship with Hermy Diaz, but not even a cold hearted bitch like me is immune to Drew's sweet, vulnerable appeal. And since she's currently making a movie about poker - my favourite guilty pleasure - with Eric Bana, I find her even more endearing. I hear Drew is still kickin' it with her rocker beau and I hear she's got a five year plan to be nominated for an Oscar. Considering her pedigree, I wouldn't bet against it. Although I do worry about some bad habits she is rumoured to have resurrected.

And yes…that’s Drew Barrymore’s young lover Justin Long beside him. They’ve all been hanging out in Toronto frequently too. Not sure if Drew travelled with Justin to LA or if she’s still in Toronto shooting her Grey Gardens and spending time with perhaps a more mature crowd while he’s away.
She does have quirky taste in dudes, non? Side by side, 9.5 out of 10 girls would lose the Justin for the Scott.

Free as a bird, fresh like a daisy, dating up a storm, but apparently not clean as a whistle having abstained for nearly two decades. Shame.
Currently dating a lucky young man, she can regularly be seen shoving her tongue down his throat in various public establishments. Curiously enough, she was also seen not too long ago shoving her tongue down the throat of another dude… a MUCH older one – perhaps even 20 years – draped around him at a party and there’s nothing wrong with that, more power to her for playing the field, except that she was at the same time asking for drugs repeatedly…alarming not only for the obvious but also because she had a dangerous relationship with them in the past and just because she’s an adult now doesn’t mean she’ll fare any better than she did before.
Can a former emancipated addict use recreationally without serious consequence? For her sake, I hope so.
