Matt asked me for a birthday blind so who’s the douchebag who justifies his hate for media but can’t justify what a dick he is to the people who work to support him? For someone who fronts like he’s so tough, all he ever does is whinge about how nobody takes care of him, how nobody knows what he wants for lunch, and when he’s done moaning about that, his mean streak kicks in and he doesn’t stop until he’s made people cry. There’s no defence for being a coddled movie star and berating someone until they run out of the room, sobbing. This is why he’s off the list.

The easy assumption is that their marriage is over because he cheated. He may have. But I’ve spoken to over a dozen impeccable sources, the best sources, sources I’ve worked with for many, many years. And while none of them can verify whether or not he stepped out, they can all confirm that she did.

They work in a small town. It’s a protective community. The community insulates their own. Even if artists f-ck up, the community generally keeps their sh-t contained, honouring a country code. So, even though a lot of people had a lot to say about her for a long time, out of respect for the business and for her husband, the community locked down her secrets. Also, they were afraid. Because, as two sources told me, “She’s crazy as f-ck. She’s the one who doesn’t just threaten to burn down your house, she would totally burn down your house. No one wants to mess with her”.

This is why no one could challenge her when she took a song from another artist, written by the other artist, without any notice, and went on to great acclaim for it. In public they all pretended like it was agreed upon and civil, but that’s not how it went down. She ripped off the piece from an emerging young talent and you saw it on that girl’s face – she was helpless at the time.

This is why no one wanted to expose her when she threw herself at another major superstar just before she got married. She offered herself to him repeatedly. While they were working together she presented herself to him one night only to have him push her out the door. So she’d start calling his wife, telling the wife that she was going to take her man, telling the wife that she wouldn’t be able to do anything about it. And she started texting him, begging him to tell her what she had to do to get him to leave his wife and be with her. She promised him, over text, that if he was with her they would be country royalty. When he refused to hook up with her, he and his label received a cease and desist from her people, telling him that he would have to reset his album because she and her now-husband would no longer allow him to use any of the music they’d written together. This is how and why they all ended up professional rivals. But, again, at the time, because she had a reputation for being so unpredictable, with mercurial mood swings, and because she was so popular (to the public) and powerful, no one wanted to take her down. Until now.

The town is turning against her because her husband just cut her loose. He finally cut her loose because she was caught, very recently, cheating on him with a member of her tour team (he’s not talent but he has a prominent position) – and there’s a family involved. She tried, but there was no way she could deny it. The evidence was irrefutable. It was flagrant. And this is why people are breaking the code. They see this as the ultimate disrespect. The way she went about it, so carelessly, they see it like a willful humiliation of her husband, who is very well liked. This, on top of the fact that people have been waiting for years for her to get what’s coming, is why so many people in that community are ready to sell her out.

A quickie.

Who makes sure that her husband has someone on staff specifically to hold her bag while she watches him at work? This is the employee’s only job responsibility. This person does nothing else but hold the bag. There’s no multitasking here. Because the bag can’t be put away in a room or on a table. It must be held. But not by her. Because she photographs much better when she has her hands free. This is Status. This is Respect. This from a woman who claims she’s down with down home living. Not high maintenance? Please.

And not just the gay ones.

He is happily attached but his entire persona pre-commitment was based on the fact that he was just a dude. An immature funloving dude. An un-Hollywood dude who routinely pointed out the Hollywood hypocrisy of many other Hollywood dudes and douchebags.

Now he’s a big star in an A List relationship. Which of course gives him the right to act like a self important little big twat. But how f&cking spiritual is this?

Photo shoot this weekend for a gadget company he endorses. He too pulls out the primadonna moves:

Shows up 3 hours late. And again – don’t look at me, don’t talk to me, don’t even sneeze in my direction, and yes… it was made clear that he preferred to be alone with the photographer between frames, necessitating a run and gun scramble from the crew, meaning the photographer would have to holler for help in a different room every time an adjustment needed to be made.

Can you imagine? Can you imagine verbalising that order? Don’t look at me and don’t talk to me? When did that become ok?

Word is this is not unusual. It’s actually standard procedure where he’s concerned. On another occasion, he was particularly demanding when it came to his favourite tea, steeped for exactly 6 minutes, always needs to be piping hot even if he doesn’t touch it, can’t be microwaved, and he doesn’t like boiled tap water either. He wanted boiled bottled water. A special brand.
It never, ever stops. And it’s even worse when he’s with her. Apparently her makeup brushes have to be cleaned in special water too.

Love hurts. Her pride hurts. Betrayed and humiliated, she’s taking a break from her relationship woes and has decided to dash off on holiday with friends.

Fun in the sun and a boozy vacay – perhaps what she needs to put things in perspective. But upon arrival, she decided alcohol was apparently not enough. And neither is marijuana. This kind of heartache requires the hard stuff.

Cocaine is the magic solution. Which is why she’s been blowing the pain away through her nose, a side of her that’s anathema to the squeaky clean, anti-drug image that’s been played out in the papers.

She's a huge star in her field. One of the biggest. Low key, undramatic lifestyle, no frequent appearances in the rags, pretty scandal free. Unless you count her hideous fashion crimes, of course. Beyond that, however, there's really not much to criticise. Which is what makes what I'm about to tell you that much more surprising. How do you think her wholesome fans would feel if they found out that the lady sends her staff people out to make her Hash runs??? I hear she's been dabbling for a while and they're starting to say it's become a lot more than just recreational use. Not exactly alarming compared to some of the other crap being snorted in the industry…but still. Given that she keeps preaching about clean living and staying healthy, it's yet another example of celebrity hypocrisy.

One of my closest friends Julie – love her – she quit smoking years ago, is one of those ex smokers who is, like, evangelical about cigarettes: it’s filthy, it’s going to kill you, don’t do it, stop doing it, why are you doing it, you really shouldn’t do it…

I, on the other hand, I’m the other kind of ex smoker. Though I stopped over a month ago, I know that I will always love smoking. Smoking for me will be like that bad boy who keeps breaking your heart and taking your money, the one you can’t even talk on the phone with, because a phone call will most certainly lead to a booty call. The point is, I get it. I get how hard it is to quit. I get that smoking is sometimes that one vice some might never leave.

But what of the superstar who claims no vices? Who claims transcendence over addiction thanks to studied enlightenment and almost supernatural self control?

Husband, hero, healer…What would his followers think of his other closeted habit? Methol ciggies alledgedly sucked back like a fiend behind closed doors - yet another secret on top of all the others. Or is it that the one super suppressed secret is spawning the others? Is it the keeping of the Big Secret that compels him to cope by secretly smoking?

Is smoking a big deal? Of course not. But for someone whose image is largely based on selling perfection, whose status supposedly is said to render him immune to addiction, who can apparently assist in overcoming it – smoking is indeed a bit hypocritical, though by comparison to his other fraud, I suppose it’s all relative.
