Amanda Seyfried stepped out today in New York, with her dog, without her fiancé. Her fiancé is now Thomas Sadoski. US Weekly confirmed it yesterday. Amanda and Thomas worked together last year on the play The Way We Get By. He was married at the time. His marriage ended last summer. And he and Amanda, um, “reconnected” (this is how the magazine describes it) earlier this year on The Last Word. They went public with their relationship in March which must, like, totally, totally have been really new into their situation, like barely a couple of months in. Super fresh. So, if you want to get technical, they’ve been dating 9 months and now they’re getting married …which…you know, in some ways, they’re kinda perfect together, maybe even less likely to disappoint each other.

Remember when Dominic Cooper and Amanda Seyfried were a thing? No? Mamma Mia?

She was pretty candid then about why they broke up. Apparently she found out he was still seeing another girl even though she thought they were together:

"I got my heart broken pretty hard. I was just kind of foolishly thinking that the two of them were done and Dom and I were involved."

Umm… how…ironic? Is that ironic?

Joanna wrote the other day about Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski going social media official. Yesterday they were papped holding hands after voting, evidently more and more comfortable with being known publicly as a couple, because people will have, by now, forgotten about the timing. Or didn’t stop to care about the timing. This time.

Amanda Seyfried’s new boyfriend

What’s the meaning of “new”? Is it new the moment something is confirmed? Or is it only new when it begins? Sorry. That was a tangent…

It was confirmed by both US Weekly and PEOPLE yesterday that Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski are dating. You may remember Thomas from The Newsroom. He played Don, an asshole. I last saw him in Sarah Silverman’s I Smile Back. He played a skeeve. Amanda and Thomas worked together last year on an off-Broadway play called The Way We Get By. At the time, Thomas was married. He and his wife were divorced in October. He and Amanda are working together again on a film called The Last Word. They were seen arriving together on set this week and she was photographed hanging on to his belt. Both US and PEOPLE are reporting that, you know, Amanda and Thomas just realised how into each other they were recently. Oh sure. I buy that. Don’t you buy that?

Last time we blinded about her, she’d had an affair on set with a married actor with a skeevy character vibe. His marriage is still intact. Another marriage, however, has ended. And she was, again, involved. Once again it started as a working situation. Of the two of them, she’s definitely more well-known. But even if you don’t know him by name, he books steady jobs, and his face should be familiar to you. He too is good at playing assholes.

When they met, she had a boyfriend and he was about to celebrate a milestone with his wife. Stage life and real life soon blurred, they were hooking up in and out of character, and she was texting him explicitly. They couldn’t let it go after wrapping up production. Which is why he’s not married anymore. He left his wife for her. According to their inner circle, they were so into each other that she followed him while he was on anniversary holiday in Europe with his wife. He would make up excuses during that trip to slip away and spend time with her. Eventually her boyfriend busted her and they broke up. He ended up filing for divorce in August and they insist they’re just friends, that nothing shady went down, that no one knows the real story. But those who saw all of it go down say they’re totally together now but are trying to put enough distance between the end of the marriage and their coming out so that people won’t suspect how they started, if that is, they last that long.
